Tomahawk Area Historical Center
Learn about local history in a log cabin and old schoolhouse. Located at 18 East Washington Avenue in Tomahawk.
New Wood Wildlife Area
This is an excellent location for bird watching. From Merrill, go north on Highway 107 for 11 miles, west on County E for 5 1/2 miles, south 2 miles on County E, and then 1 1/2 miles west on Conservation Avenue.
Treehaven Environmental Learning Center
This 1,400 acre nature center is operated by University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point. Located 7 miles east of Tomahawk on County Highway A, then south on Pickerel Creek Road.
Merrill Historical Museum
The museum is housed in the former home of a prominent local lumber baron. Located at 804 East Third Street in Merrill.
Prairie River Trails Park
This new park is located along the banks of the spectacular Prairie River. The Prairie River is famous for its clean waters and giant brook trout. The 99 acre park also includes a 2 1/2 mile bicycling trail.
