If you’re looking for solitude and wilderness, some of the wildest rides in all the Northwoods can be found on county forest lands. The Lincoln County Forest is vast-101,000 acres. The many miles of logging roads that weave their way through this rugged landscape will take you as far from civilization as you want to go. And the Lincoln County Forest is home to the Harrison Hills, one of the most scenic areas in all of Wisconsin. Located about 10 miles southeast of Tomahawk or 8 1/2 miles northeast of Merrill, the Harrison Hills absolutely blaze with color during the autumn. Don’t miss it! Remember, the logging roads are multiple use, so you may share the roads with Atvs or motorized vehicles. Camping is allowed in the Lincoln County Forest.
